Our annual scholarship program includes up to three $500 FONS Scholarships and up to one $500 Kohere Scholarship awarded to graduating seniors in our Nutley High School choir program. Eligibility requirements are outlined below.
Eligible students apply through the NHS Guidance Department's local scholarship process, which typically opens the first week of January and closes the first week of March. Please consult your Guidance Counselor for details.

Awardees are announced at the annual Senior Scholastic Awards Program that takes place in June.
Each year, FONS awards $500 scholarships to up to three graduating seniors in our Nutley High School choir program.
Eligibility Requirements:
For over 45 years, Mr. Kohere taught generations of Nutley residents and brought music and art to the world of many students through teaching, directing multiple choral groups, and eventually moving on to the administration of the music programs in the school district.
Mr. Kohere's family established this $500 scholarship to honor his memory for the benefit of a graduating senior who meets the same eligibility requirements as the FONS Scholarships (outlined above) plus plans to pursue further education in music, music education, or the arts.
